Seagull Beach is 2 miles south of Relax Inn at the end of South Sea Avenue. It's the town's biggest beach: a wide stretch of sand on Nantucket Sound with lifeguards on duty in summer. The water faces south and stays warm - typically mid-70s °F by July - with gentle waves that are easy for kids.
Parking costs $25 per day for non-residents (free with a Yarmouth beach sticker). There are restrooms and a boardwalk over the dunes. Arrive before 10 AM on weekends or the lot fills up. The beach is wide enough that even on busy days you can find space to spread out.
Englewood Beach - Free Parking, 3 Minutes Away
Englewood Beach is only about 1 mile from the motel, at the end of Berry Avenue. It has 33 free parking spaces - no sticker, no fee. The catch: the lot is small and fills early in summer, so aim for a morning arrival or a late-afternoon visit.
The water here is ultra-shallow - toddlers can wade out a long way before it gets above their knees. There's a small playground right at the parking area, which makes it a great choice for families with young kids. It's our go-to recommendation for guests who want a quick, free beach trip without any fuss.

What to Bring to the Beach
We want to set expectations: we don't provide beach chairs, umbrellas, or beach towels. You'll need to bring your own or pick them up locally. Ocean State Job Lot on Route 28 in South Yarmouth sells affordable chairs and umbrellas. For towels, every room has bath towels you're welcome to use, but they're standard-size - not beach-size.
Craigville Beach tip: The town lot at Craigville Beach in Centerville charges $25/day, but the attendant leaves around 3:45 PM. After that, parking is free. It's a great option for a late-afternoon swim without spending a dime.
Where to Eat Near the Beach
The Barnacle - A seasonal seafood shack directly across from Craigville Beach. Lobster rolls, fried clams, and soft-serve ice cream. Cash-friendly, outdoor picnic tables. Perfect for a post-beach lunch.
Craigville Pizza & Mexican - Right next to the Barnacle. A $7-12 cheese pizza that locals argue is the best on Cape Cod. They also serve solid burritos and tacos. Casual, quick, affordable.

After the Beach, Cool Off at the Pool
Our outdoor pool is open daily from 9 AM to 8 PM in season. It's right in the middle of the property, so you can rinse off the sand and take a swim without leaving the motel. There are lounge chairs around the pool deck - no reservation needed.
The pool is a freshwater pool (no salt, no sand), which makes it a nice change of pace after a morning in the ocean. Kids especially appreciate it after a long beach day.
