Where to Eat on Main Street
KKatie's Burger Bar ($) - 334 Main St. Best burger in Hyannis, hands down. Creative toppings, solid fries, casual atmosphere. Great for families.
Anejo Mexican Bistro ($$) - 599 Main St. Upscale Mexican with a courtyard under a 250-year-old beech tree. Margaritas, tacos, mole. The outdoor seating is one of the nicest spots on Main Street.
Tap City Grille ($$) - 586 Main St. American pub fare with a big craft beer selection. Good for groups who can't agree on one cuisine.
For a Bigger Night Out
Alberto's Ristorante ($$$) - 360 Main St. Classic Italian since 1984. White tablecloths, homemade pasta, solid wine list. A good date-night or anniversary dinner spot. Reservations recommended in summer.
Brazilian Grill ($$$) - 680 Main St. All-you-can-eat churrascaria with tableside-carved meats - picanha, lamb, sausage, chicken. Flip the card to green and the gauchos keep coming. A full salad bar rounds it out. Come hungry.
Live Music and Entertainment
Cape Cod Melody Tent - A 2,300-seat open-air tent venue on West Main Street. Every seat is within 50 feet of the stage. The lineup runs from classic rock to comedy to country - check their schedule before your trip. It's a Cape Cod institution since 1950.
Bars with live music - Several spots on Main Street have live bands on weekends in summer, including the British Beer Company and Embargo. Walk Main Street in the evening and follow your ears.
Music on Main - Free outdoor concerts on select summer evenings right on Main Street. A good reason to stroll downtown after dinner.
Hyannis Harbor Cruises
Hy-Line Harbor Tour - A 1-hour narrated cruise around Hyannis Harbor and Lewis Bay. You'll see the Kennedy Compound from the water, which is the only way to get a good look at it. Family-friendly, runs multiple times daily in summer.
Bay Spirit Tours - Sunset cocktail cruises and private charters. A more relaxed, adults-oriented option. BYOB on some trips - check their schedule.
Both depart from the harbor at the bottom of Ocean Street, about a 7-minute drive from Relax Inn.
Getting to the Islands
Hyannis is the main departure point for ferries to both Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket. Hy-Line and the Steamship Authority run from two terminals on the waterfront. We've put together a full guide with ferry times, prices, parking tips, and what to expect.
