Relax Inn Cape Cod is a 40-room motel on Route 28 in West Yarmouth, open April through mid-November. The property sits between Route 6 north and downtown Hyannis, both about five minutes away. It's a practical base for exploring the mid-Cape without paying resort prices to do it.
In 2024, the property reopened as Relax Inn. New hardwood floors and carpet went in across all 40 rooms, the WiFi was upgraded property-wide, and the pool had cosmetic repairs done. The rooms in these photos reflect that update: what you see is what you get.
The outdoor pool is the center of the property in summer, not a background amenity. It's well-maintained, open from morning through evening, and surrounded by lounge chairs and a shaded area on the deck. It's where families end their beach days, where kids cool off after a long drive, and where the patio chairs fill up by mid-afternoon. If you're traveling with children or just want a place to decompress between activities, it earns its keep.
Rooms are split between standard king, standard double queen, deluxe double queen (3 rooms), and deluxe king (1 room); the deluxe rooms have extra square footage. Every room has air conditioning, a flat-screen TV, mini-fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. Free parking is on-site. Free WiFi covers the full property.
The motel sits on Route 28, the main commercial road through the mid-Cape. Seagull Beach is about 5 minutes east. Downtown Hyannis is 5 minutes west, with restaurants, shops, live music, and the ferry terminals for Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket. Cape Cod National Seashore and the Cape Cod Rail Trail are within a 20-minute drive.
The property is straightforward and honest - no ocean views, no elevator, no resort fees. What you get is a clean, well-run motel in a good location with staff who know the area and come back season after season.
